The purpose of this book is to assemble several of the major contributions to the recent literature of public expenditure economics in one readily accessible volume. It provides a much needed source of theoretical and applied material as the long-neglected expenditure side of the public budget receives increased attention in the curricula of economics and political science departments and schools of business and public administration. The essays included in this volume are appropriate for use in public finance and policy analysis courses in all of these areas.
