This book takes the form of a series of observations, analyses, speculations, reflections, and theories concerning one of the weakest of spatial dimensions -that of left or right. It is weak if we compare it to the other orders, especially that of verticality, but nevertheless it is strong enough to have provided political thought with a universal system of classification, as satisfying but as crippling as the many cosmic myths of primitive and modern religions.
